No longer is pyro a pubbie "I'm so cool, look at me!" class, since the flare gun has created an opportunity for a more or less defensive pyro. In maps like dustbowl you can draw back demos' and medics, by setting them on fire from higher ground, while taking zero damage from them.
However, a medic counters it flawlessly, if he himself isn't set on fire.

The best part of a defensive pyro is the backburner - powerful or not, it still gives you +50 hp and a small chance of getting crits from behind all the time. Some may argue that you cannot draw the projectiles back with it, but you can still take +1 rocket on yourself, in case your team really doesn't want a sentry destroyed for example.

The update adds a lot of variety to the yet dynamic Team Fortress 2 gameplay, and the next updates will too. Stay tuned, We'll be discussing some new Team Fortress 2 strategies in the next articles!

Cult of Luna

Hello, this is my first hero guide, and I'll be discussing the ways to play my favourite hero : Luna Moonfang, the Moon Rider! I know that the guide will be quite incomplete, but what the hell, if you can't think the rest, DotA surely isn't for you.

"Luna Moonfang is a stalwart and devout follower of the Moon Goddess, Elune. She fights alongside the Sentinel in the neverending battle to cleanse the land of the unholy Scourge. Through her valiant efforts, she has been granted small portions of Elune's mystical power. Luna uses this gift to cut a swath through her enemies. It has been said that Luna is able to call down the very light of the moon, and is always surrounded by a glowing aura, as though in moonlight herself. Luna is a shining beacon for the Sentinel, an ever vigilant protector."

Overall, a great damager hero with one of the best signature skills in the game - Eclipse.
A kind of a 'nerf' between 6.48b-6.52 happened, the ways to play luna have changed, thus you no longer can go pure eclipse.

My skill build is as follows :
1. Lucent Beam
2. Stats
3. Lucent Beam
4. Stats
5. Lucent Beam
6. Eclipse
7. Lucent Beam
8. Stats
9. Moon Glaive
10. Moon Glaive
11. Eclipse
12. Moon Glaive
13. Stats
14. Stats
15. Stats
16. Eclipse
17. Lunar Blessing
18. Lunar Blessing
19. Lunar Blessing
20. Lunar Blessing
21 - 25. Stats

Item build :
2 Wraith bands in the beginning, for the stat boost we need to keep alive.
Boots Of Speed - You'll need those for BoT, and You'll need BoT for map control.
You can try adding another Wraith band after that, if you feel that the creeps aren't dying as fast as you want it to happen, or you are dying too much (you shouldn't)
Butterfly - Gives you a huge damage boost. A huge attack speed boost, and boosts you armor for ~4.5, not mentioning evasion. And evasion tanks you.
Monkey King Bar - a powerful item indeed. Combined with huge IAS from butterfly it gives you a sort of perma-ministun together with the beams. But I prefer getting Kelen's dagger of escape (even after the nerf, to hell with that). You Can add a helm of dominator too, just don't forget - use dominate sometimes!

Early and mid game - After level 7, it's your time for fame. Hunt across the river, hunt for enemies heading from lane to lane. It is impossible to couter your ultimate without blink, and it's hard to get away even with it. Quite a lot of the tank heroes can survive an Eclipse + Beam combo, even in the early game, but you can easily kill them with a beam, or plain chase (320 base MS, is quite a lot, isn't it?). At lvl 11 you have at least 520 mana, not counting the boost from wraith bands. It is okay for a lvl 2 eclipse - 250 mana + 2 beams - each 140 (depends on how many wraith bands you had).

Late game domination can be achieved, IF you play your cards right during mid game.
Flee across the river (the most dangerous place for your enemies, but I bet they already know it)
Kill int and agi heroes, finish off str heroes. That's your Luna.

Notes - Luna's ultimate has an AoE of 450, also Don't use Lucent Beams while using Eclipse - they won't work!

Worst Enemies:

Visage: Luna's Ultimate gets lost in the birdies. You're dead meat against him.
Banehallow: Each wolf takes 2 beams (ok, after lvl 16 it doesn't matter that much, but you'll die anyways)
Abaddon: His ultimate counters ours.
Lucifer: Doom will make dog-poo out of you. And he tanks good. ^_^

Best allies:
Shendelzare Silkwood (venge) - Netherswap! :O
Raigor Stonehoof (tauren) - Clears creeps like no one else, except

Keys to success in CS.

I mentioned earlier that my Counter Strike experience is quite big, and I don't play CS anymore, so here at zomgful I can tell you how can you improve your CS skills.

First of all : CS is all about positioning yourself, your teammates.

You can see SK topping like a 2v5 moment quite often, because of their enormous experience in positioning. They can clearly imagine where their opponents are, so they just have to tap out, have a little higher reaction ms than their opponents, and voila, headshot, headshot, another SK mini-movie! They just have played in certain positions more than their opponents, that's all!

Secondly : You won't become good just by deathmatching.

It was very painful for me to understand this. I used to play like 2hours in deathmatch servers every day, instead of playing in PUG's (we call them gathers in Europe, but that is not the point).
CS:DM is good for your reflexes. You can really get an enormous reflex boost by playing in deathmatch servers. But you don't play positions there, do you? You just run around like crazy, fireing from every angle you can, but if you had a position like that to shoot from in a Clan War, man, you would hell'a suck, just because you had a different mindset in your deathmatch time.

Thirdly : Pick Up Games, Gathers (same thing), Clan Wars will naturaly boost your game, as you will slowly, but surely learn to fire from different angles better and better, with just one but. You will get alot better if you play them with much more skilled players.

And yeah, just for you to know - today's my birthday. Hip-hip-hurray!

Awareness.

What did Jesus Christ say,
when he was taken by roman guards?
"Where's the miss, assholes?"

If this anecdote is true, then I can say one thing about Jesus' style of play.
He was not aware in his game. Aware that the guards in fact can seize him, later judge and crucify and stuff, but that is not that important. What is important - he could escape, just taking a few necessary steps!

Let's imagine a quite ordinary pub DotA game.
You picked viper, an early to midgame hero, go to farm in center, and you suddenly get ganged by a centaur, and when he has successfully stunned you, the traxex finishes you. Would you scream "WHERE'S THE F'IN MISS", and, well, sucked hard for the rest of the game?

Or would you think, how could you not died?

You could! Let's imagine that you noticed the red circle moving away, or disappearing from a lane at your minimap. You could've at least gotten some wards in the beginning, if you weren't sure about your awareness. The choices are endless, but you died.

If an enemy you've never seen in the entire game, even more, an enemy that is weaker than you, and you could in fact kill him, suddenly appears and attacks you from the back, what would you think? Since I listen to Judas Priest, I have a pretty good idea about this. "You've Got Another Thing Comin'".

It's the awareness of the possibilities to at avoid losing, or at least dying 3-4 times in likewise situations.

So, what will I write here?

+ =
Pudge + lina = an angry negro :O

Yeah, what will I?
Sorry, nothing personal.

Nothing that is unrelated with games and the internet - my second life and mainly you'll hear about one thing from me - games.

Anywho, the thing is - I'm kind of a wannabe gosu in dota, ogame (browser based crap), was a decent player @ other games - CS (4,5 years), Quake 1-2-3 (I still get a hard-on, when I hear the word 'humiliation' from Q3A), I still play Team Fortress (6 months), and I think it'll be interesting for you to read about the technical stuff I usually care about.

Stay tuned, cyberjunkies.

Zomgish.
